Bush Derangement Syndrome

I’m certainly not blindly supportive of our President but I’m alarmed at the infectious level of hatred towards him that permeates our society. I’ve commented on the treasonous hatred of George W. Bush numerous times and have made my disgust with the rapid infestation of Bush Derangement Syndrome quite clear. It has become the en vogue thing to bash the Bush Administration…much like the latest pair of Uggs, it has become increasingly hip to denounce our Commander in Chief as ‘evil, devil, stupid, etc”. Largely originating from the MSM and the rocket scientists in Hollywood, this Bush Derangement Syndrome has truly take a hold on American society. Aside from the obvious fact that 99.9% of the “I hate Bush” rhetoric is uninformed, baseless drivel there is a more sinister ramification at play here. The net effect has been to slowly erode the prestige, power, and moral authority of the Executive Branch (a phenomenon that no doubt started in the late 1960’s). The constant abuse that is hurled at the President has had a dangerous effect of delegitimizing the American Presidency to the point that I do not think it can recover. It has given birth to a terrible cycle that will inevitably continue with the next Administration as Republicans settle the score for the Bush years or vice versa…Do you think that the Republicans will let a Democratic President go unscathed…I think not (remember the Clinton years!). What good does this do for our country? What good can slandering the very most visible symbol of the United States do? It simply degrades our Government and increases discontent in our political landscape. By all means engage those in power in meaningful and constructive debates, but verbal sniping is not constructive…period. Look at our current political landscape: Dems do not want to actively debate the war on terror, rather have chosen to engage in verbal sniping of current policy with no alternate suggestion….they intend on doing so just enough to undermine the administration until the election in 2008….Isn’t it scary that we have gotten to the point where some would rather risk American lives so they can score defamatory points against our President. It’s pretty sad when a mark of honor for the leftist intelligentsia is “I hate Bush.” Readers when you encounter this phrase please ask the following two questions:

1) Why do you hate Bush?

2) What do you propose we do about it?

I promise you that the response you get will be about as dim-witted and dull as a “spork in a prison mess hall.”

Democrats Non-Binding Resolution

The Democrats in the House have vowed to submit non-binding resolutions in protest to the new strategy in Iraq and have further threatened to cut funding for the troops. Aside from the obvious Constitutional issues here that clearly outline the President’s power to conduct foreign wars, there is still the glaring question of what the Dems actually propose we do. I will pose the question to the American Left yet again: What do YOU propose we do? Inevitably we will probably never get a real answer because as long as those in power can duck and roll towards 2008, the less accountability they will have. There is zero concern for what is to be done for the best of country, rather the only consideration is what will be done for the party in 2008. Voter referendums should be initiated to bring them all back to their home states and fire them.

Iraq as Vietnam

I make the standing offer: I dare anyone to present me a legitimate argument that successfully draws ANY comparison between Iraq and Vietnam from a strategic perspective. The only parallel is that American Left in both cases desperately wants our military to lose and thereby further their own political gain.

Border Security

According to various news reports a contingent of National Guardsmen manning the Arizona border was forced to retreat due to gunfire from gunmen in Mexico (http://www.azcentral.com/12news/news/articles/borderstory0104-CR.html). Pretty disgusting isn't it? Not only were our servicemen (some of whom are Iraq War vets) forced to retreat, but this is what our national security has come to...For those of you who don't remember, Bush authorized the deployment of 6,000 unarmed National Guardsmen on the Mexican border to "assist" the US Border Patrol in securing our terroritory. So what deterrence is deploying unarmed soldiers going to have on those intending harm on Americans? From this most recent incident, absolutely none whatsoever...If this is what the country wants, then let's just go ahead and let everyone in....illegals, terrorists, drug smugglers, criminals, etc. Send the Guardsment home to their families....Instead of a wall, why don't we just build a Mile Wide Neon Sign (in Spanish and Arabic of course) saying: "US Border: Enter Here". Our leaders have failed us...plain and simple. It is precisely the half-assed approach to military operations and National Security that will inevitably result in more dead Americans on our streets. I don't need a prediction from God to tell me that....if our own troops are running from gunmen on our borders, MARK MY WORDS: 9/11 WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
